Commercial Driver Training 

ASTA Safety & Commercial Driver Training is proud to offer Class 1a and 3a training 

All our Commercial Driving courses have both classroom and practical components that will be delivered in three learning environments: in-class, in-yard (around the vehicle/ behind the wheel), on the road (behind-the wheel) and the 12 Week Program has a Supervised Work Experience component with a Carrier.

Advanced Class 1a (12 Weeks)                                                                                                  

• 90 hours Classroom instruction including 8.5 hours of airbrake instruction

• 35 hours of Behind the Wheel  in-yards instruction

• 65 hours of Behind the Wheel (BTW) on road training

• 130 hours Observation time

• Total in school training hours – 320 hours 

• 100 hours Supervised Work Experience (SWE) with Carrier

• Total Training Hours - 420.00

Basic Class 1a (6 Weeks)                                                                                                    

• 40.50 hours Classroom instruction including 8.5 hours of airbrake instruction

• 35.00 hours of Behind the Wheel in-yards instruction

• 65.00 hours of Behind the Wheel (BTW) on road training

• 100.00 hours Observation time

• Total Training hours – 240.5

Class 3a (3 Week)                                                                                                             

•      25.00 hours Classroom instruction including 8.5 hours of airbrake instruction

•     10.00 hours of Behind the Wheel  in-yards instruction

•     25.00 hours of Behind the Wheel (BTW) on road training

•     60.00 hours Observation time

•   Total training hours – 120 hours 

Our Facilities:

We are located in Slemon Park PE where we have our training room, truck yard and driving range.

Our Instructors:

All of our instructors have years of experience in the field. And are licensed by the PEI  Department of  Education and Lifelong Learning and PEI  Highway Safety

They know the training you need to be successful.
